The job search landscape has changed! Once upon a time, a nurse would just look on a hospital website to find all the available job listings. That is still often the case, but now there are many other online places that you can find nurse job postings. Some of the websites are easier than others to navigate or more efficient methods of looking.
Here are a few websites/online spaces that you may want to check out:
LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, or a Google Search for your preferred position
- These websites or search engine results will give you a posting that has a condensed version of each nurse position that it shows.
- Pro: Saves time! - These are great places to easily look for a variety of jobs from multiple employers or staffing agencies.
- Con: You won’t find everything. - Not every nurse job will be listed on these websites as facilities pay to have positions posted or “pushed out” on each platform. This means that there are jobs out there that may now show up!
Nurse Job “Matchmaker” Company
- This kind of company will ask you to make a profile and then “match” you to nurse jobs.
- Pro: Saves time/energy/stress! - One profile for jobs matched for you? Pretty efficient!
- Con: You may not find all the jobs here. - Like other pay to play websites, this company only represents employers who are paying them to find nurses. You may miss out on other opportunities.
Hospital “Careers” Website
- Each hospital or healthcare organization has their own job postings on their website. This is where you will find ALL the jobs for each organization with the complete details of each position.
- Pro: All the info! - You will get a complete list of all possible positions with ALL the info on each.
- Con: Time Consuming - It can be tedious looking up every facility where you may want to work, then going and looking at each job listing website.
