What does it look like to give your full presence to someone? Ultimately it is your presence shared with me, and my presence shared with you, that will heal us all.

In my life I can safely say I was taught how to acquire things, how to consume, how to have and to hold, however, I was never taught what to do when I began to lose what I loved.

As tomorrow is National Caregivers Day, I share this story because, as nurses, we care for patients every day and are the first caregivers to our children, family members, neighbors, and friends.
